West Palm Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach,
Loxahatchee and Acreage Resales
Buying
a resale home, condo or townhome can net you a larger home in an established
neighborhood, often also at a significant savings.
Generally
speaking, the older the neighborhood, the more house you can buy for the money.
But it's also possible to buy an almost new home for thousands less than a brand
new one.
Newer
homes in a particular price range are generally smaller, are built on smaller
lots and frequently will be taxed higher.
That's
why a lot of buyers look for a resale home and often there are real bargains
around. The resale home may or may not have the very latest in tiled floors or
kitchens, but frequently a resale will have been brought up to date by the owner
and some of the older homes are truly beautiful.
A
new 1,800 square foot home in Wellington, for example, would cost about $500,000
or more on a relatively small lot. But a resale of the same size might be found
for l$275,000 or less. The resale might be only one or 2 years
old, and is as good as new. It pays to look around and both new homes and
resales.
Homes
in Royal Palm Beach tend to cost less than in Wellington. Single-family homes in
Royal Palm Beach range in price from the mid-$300s and average in the
$400s.
Homes in
The Acreage might cost about the same as in Royal Palm Beach - starting in the
$300s and averaging in the $400,000s - but feature 1.10
acre lots or larger. Homes in Loxahatchee will mostly be built on 5 acres,
so the cost will be somewhat higher.
Buying
a resale home also eliminated the need to wait up to more than a year for a new home to be
built.
